Bambrey House

Being native to Philadelphia, the studio has rebuilt many row homes. They are a prevalent form of local architecture. Many row homes have what we have coined the “backpack”. These are small shed like additions built onto the back of traditional row homes. Some homes have two, or even three, subsequently smaller “backpacks”.

By rebuilding this rear addition shed and including it in the footprint of the home, we were able to extend the house and add the steel and glass wall.

Washable, commercial grade “lace” vinyl wall covering serves as the backsplash in the kitchen.
