Cresheim

A busy New York art collector purchased this house as a weekend retreat.  The home needed to be completely updated and had no fireplace. A complete gourmet kitchen was designed to mimic the furnishings, even though the owner insisted the only thing he would ever cook in the house would be a salad.  Antique tables were used instead of a standard kitchen island. Base cabinets were extended to eliminate upper cabinets and create more wall space for artwork.

A chimney was engineered through the center of the house, and the materials of the new fireplace façade were selected to match the period of the gatehouse. The thistle wallpaper is by Timorous Beasties.
